Where the work stalled
Documents arrived in mixed formats and lawyers reformatted them by hand. A typical 60-page contract could require another 40 to 45 minutes of repetitive clean-up after the legal drafting was finished.
What we built
- Encoded the firm's house style in a reusable skill.
- Enabled lawyers to upload a document and receive it in the agreed house style.
- Kept the document's clause wording unchanged.
- Reported broken cross-references and similar defects without changing them.
Reported result
For a typical 60-page contract, the skill saves around 40 to 45 minutes of lawyer formatting time.
Where people stay responsible
A lawyer decides whether and how each drafting defect is fixed.
- A lawyer decides whether and how each drafting defect is fixed.
Limitations
- Heavily customised Word files can format unpredictably and need manual attention.
Measuring it
Compare formatting and checking time with the previous 40-to-45-minute manual clean-up for a typical 60-page contract.
